When can I expect my order?
Our leather products are made ‘to order’. January through November you can expect your order to ship from our studio in CA within 3-6 working days. During December it may take 7-10 days depending on the number of orders in house. Order early to avoid the holiday crush!
UPS delivers to the east coast within 5 working days, the Midwest within 4-5 working days, north and southwest in 3-4 working days and the west coast within 1-2 working days. We offer all UPS shipping methods including: ground, 3-day select, 2nd day and red label or overnight shipping.
Do you give exclusives?
We put every new customer address through a zip code search. When researching new customer locations relative to existing accounts we consider the following: distance, store type, longevity of the account, product type ordered, purchasing activity, finance charge history or history of non-payment.
We don’t offer exclusives, however we do all we can to protect accounts purchasing $800-1000 or more annually. If you haven’t ordered in more than one year I’m sure you understand that we can’t afford to turn away a new customer in your location. We run a zip coast search on all new customers to determine if we are already selling to a store in that location. We use Mapquest to research the distance between locations. We also consider the size of the town or city to determine what the market can bear. If we have any questions, usually we do, we contact the existing account buyer to discuss the situation and negotiate if it’s appropriate: ie if one account doesn’t sell pewter and the new account only wants our barrettes, etc.
Do you offer custom products?
We very rarely have the time for custom leather products. We do occasionally work with custom imagery on leather. However, this type of work requires a commitment of at least 50-100 pieces depending on the product. Custom pewter work is more common. We’re happy to fax you our custom policy sheets should the need arise.
Why Can't I Choose my Own Color or Older Images No Longer Shown Online or in Our Catalog?
A brief history of Oberon policy: In our early days we held inventory on our leather products and shipped them in assortment of 12 each only. We then allowed customers to choose whatever image and color combination they chose. We offered so many choices that inventory became untenable. In the mid 1990’s we began to make all our leather products ‘to order’ and began to track what we were selling, not only products but color and image combinations.
Within two years, we began to see that the majority of our top twenty images sold in one color 90% of the time. This knowledge, combined with the constant comments of retailers that our line was too complex and difficult an ordering process, lead us in 2005 to assign the most popular color to each image.
For those customers that find this change dissatisfactory, we do offer you the chance to order images in non-catalog colors for a $5 service charge per item.
Why are there products for sale on your retail site that don’t appear on your wholesale site?
Oberon Design is now making covers for a number of electronic products. These are product covers that cannot accommodate both wholesale and retail pricing structures and still sell competitively. The plethora of constantly changing devices (not to mention upgrades) and the difficulty of the corner strap fit on our electronic covers lead us to the conclusion that our return policy would not accommodate wholesale sales of these items. Thanks for your understanding.
Do you still sell..?
Oberon Design no longer produce’s men wallets, clutch purse, photo albums or hardbound paper journals.
